My birthday was August 1. I thought about what I accomplished the previous year. I was pleased, but I also thought about how fast time is moving. I have more to do and won't be content until I max out my potential. This quote from Chadwick Boseman summaries my life's ambition.
“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, ‘I used everything You gave me.' ”
I often think about the opportunities I missed. Wasted chances from not listening to wisdom, or sound council. Doors closed because of laziness or procrastination. Failed relationships due to looking for the right things in the wrong people. Bad investments of time, talent, and treasure. Not placing the proper value on treasure I thought to be trash. Allowing people to talk me out of my one shining moment. I could kick myself often for not seeing blessings right in front of me.
Some opportunities come once in life. If we are not prepared they will pass us and others will take advantage of what was destined for us. Therefore, we need to make sure we are always ready. Don't get ready. Stay ready.
Five hundred, twenty-five thousand, six hundred minutes...
I believe everyone is destined for greatness. What separates us are the priorities we assign to our lives and the choices we make in completing them. It does not matter where you are in your life's journey. It matters that you make every day count, make every step intentional, make every thought powerful, and make every relationship purposeful. Do this and you will live life without regrets.
